Pathway control efficiency

Description

Pathway control factors, PCF, are flux control factors, expressing the relative change of flux in response to a transition between two Electron-transfer-pathway states due to a change of (i) substrate availability or (ii) inhibition of enzyme steps in the pathway, in a defined coupling-control state.

Abbreviation: PCF

Reference: Flux control factor

From substrate to pathway control factor

Previous terminology: Substrate control factors, SCF, are flux control factors, expressing the relative change of flux in response to a transition of substrate availability in a defined coupling-control state.
Substrate control factors, therefore, are a subgroup of pathway control factors.
