Cardiolipin

Description

Cardiolipin, CL, is a relevant component (phospholipid) of the mitochondrial inner membrane (mtIM) which plays an important role in mitochondrial bioenergetics. CL is involved in the mitochondrial-dependent pathway of apoptosis, participates in the function and stabilization of mitochondrial respiratory complexes and supercomplexes and also contributes to mitochondrial integrity.

Abbreviation: CL
