The composition of the ISE-Ca2+ Membranes is similar to the one described by Simon et al^[1]. The limit of detection is less than 10 nM in Ca²⁺ buffered calibration solutions. The main difficulty in establishing reliable Ca²⁺ measurements is not the Ca²⁺ sensitive membrane but the methodology of its application in a medium simulating intracellular conditions.
