MiR05 or MiR06?
MiR06 is MiR05 plus catalase. Including catalase in the medium allows for reoxygenation with H2O2 without needing to open the chamber, and it is recommended when measuring CIV activity (with ascorbate/TMPD).

From MitoFit Preprint to journal publication: "Although FAO [fatty acid oxidation] is not a dominant pathway in brain energy metabolism, it plays important roles, such as avoiding the accumulation of long-chain acylcarnitines, and deserves specific attention in studies of brain metabolism."

Oroboros of the month
|
- In the artwork "First Fruits of the Earth Offered to Saturn" at the Palazzo Vecchio, Saturn (Cronus in Greek mythology) is holding the Ouroboros in the hand, symbolizing the eternal cycle of renewal and the interconnectedness of beginning and end.
