Winter 2008

Some snowfall in early December 2008 presented us with a beautiful winter scenery, the first time for some new sculptures by Harald Kirchebner in our MiPArt Gallery: The Runner (left) and the Oroboros (middle). We want to take this opportunity to thank our friends and colleagues, customers and partners, for your cooperation with the OROBOROS O2k-Team. We thank you for your applications of and contributions to high-resolution respirometry - and to the MiPArt Gallery. The past year was very successful, with high-resolution respirometry having reached 32 countries, and nearly 200 new-generation O2k-instruments being used in laboratories throughout the world. With full power, we continued with new developments, and hope that these innovations will contribute to increase the quality of research and open up new possibilities in mitochondrial respiratory physiology.

2008 was a year full of experiences and experiments, developing and sharing ideas, completing and planning projects and collaborations, involvement in courses (we reached the 48th O2k-Course), workshops and conferences.

There should also be time to relax. The extension of the OROBOROS MiPArt Gallery turned out as a happy meeting of creative spirits, of lovers of beauty and thought, of 'cooperation and feedback beyond science'. We thank particularly our MiPArt artists and contributors: Odra Noel, Harald Kirchebner and Winfried Platzgummer. They have created the special spirit of the MiPArt Gallery, jointly with our welcome guests.
