Carnitine O-octanoyltransferase is a mitochondrial enzyme that transfers carnitine to octanoyl-CoA to form Coenzyme A and octanoylcarnitine: Octanoyl-CoA + L-carnitine ↔ CoA + L-octanoylcarnitine.
